Foodie couple Steve and Jacquie have spent recent times in far-flung countries trying out new and exciting dishes but for their special day, they knew they wanted the wonderful spectacle of a hog roast Manchester centrepiece. As the couple work in catering themselves, food is a central part of their lives and they wanted to reflect this in their wedding menu, so in addition to our amazing hog roast roll buffet, they asked us to provide some extras, including canapés to welcome their guests, and a selection of starters and desserts.
To show their love of travel and food, they chose canapés according to their favourite holiday destinations, so Chinese dim sum, a selection of Indian snacks, spicy Thai chicken kebabs and tiger prawns, which they also enjoyed in Thailand. As Steve and Jacquie both work catering corporate hospitality events and specialise in providing sharing platters to make it more interactive for the guests, they wanted the starters of smoked salmon and Parma ham to be served in this way. Following a hog roast Manchester main course served buffet-style, the guests would then enjoy lemon tart and cheesecake on sharing platters, too.
We catered the beautiful wedding reception over the weekend and our team spent several hours happily preparing the food and ensuring the presentation was just as the couple wanted. It’s always great to hear compliments from the guests as well as the bride and groom themselves, and on this day we were inundated with positive comments, both about the tasty food and our professional, polite and cheerful staff. In fact, the only complaint was from a dieting lady who said that there were just too many tempting dishes that she couldn’t resist!
