Engagement With A Hog Roast In Hyde!

Ian and Sarah recently announced their engagement and decided to hire our catering services for their celebration at home with close friends and family members. We told them about our winter warmer menu, which consists of a yummy hog roast cooked, carved and served at your venue with your choice of veg, and with their party being held outside in the autumn months, they thought it a great idea.

We arrived at the couple’s home yesterday first thing in the morning, as the meal was due to be served for lunch and slow roasting a pig takes a few hours. For this fairly small gathering, we’d brought along a small hog that would still feed everyone with seconds or more, and Ian and Sarah has asked us to roast turnips, parsnips and sweet potatoes. Plus for a vegetarian guest, we would serve a baked potato with homemade coleslaw.

Setting up the gazebo and serving station was easy and then the couple watched spellbound as I ensured that the hog roast in Hyde was fully prepared for its roasting. I scored the skin, smothered it all in water to make it moist and then added salt all over for the crackling. By the time the guests had all arrived, I was already stripping the lovely, juicy pig of that crackling and hand carving the tender pork slices. The vegetables had also cooked beautifully and added that extra bit of warmth to the hog roast meal. From the wonderful compliments we received, the guests all agreed.
