The Hog Roast Wilmslow team spent a very enjoyable Sunday catering for the christening party of twin boys! When their parents, Sarah and Richard found out they were having not one, but two babies they were over the moon (after the initial panic had subsided!) and their families couldn’t wait for the christening to officially welcome them both into the world!
Sarah and Richard thought long and hard about the catering for the special occasion because they didn’t want anything too run of the mill. They were struggling to find a local catering company who could give them the sort of food they wanted until they discovered Hog Roast Wilmslow! At first Sarah thought a hog roast would not be refined enough for a christening, but she changed her mind when she saw our vast range of modern menus!
They opted for one of our more formal buffet menus that included a canape welcome reception and chose a mouth-watering selection of mini quiches, tiger prawns, smoked salmon and chicken satay. They also decided to treat their guests to a selection of two delicious slow-roasted meats-a classic hog roast served with crispy crackling and homemade apple sauce, and blushing sirloin of beef with horseradish sauce and rich red wine gravy. They were also pleased to discover that even though we are meat specialists, we can also cater effectively for different diets and had no problem in providing vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives for their guests with different dietary needs.
When the proud parents and their 100 guests arrived at the venue with the newly christened twins, Hog Roast Wilmslow’s professional events team were waiting to greet everyone with platters of our individually handmade canapes, which had been freshly made at the venue along with the rest of the menu. The canapes went down very well, as did the rest of the meal and we received great feedback from the guests who we had provided alternative dishes for, as they felt we had really gone the extra mile to accommodate them!
The christening party was every bit as special as Sarah and Richard hoped it would be and they were very glad that they had chosen Hog Roast Wilmslow to do the catering!
