Christmas is coming in hot, and so is Hog Roast Kearsley! We’ve been busy spreading holiday cheer (and mouthwatering smells) across Manchester, because let’s face it—nothing says Christmas like a belly full of festive treats, right?
This past Saturday, we braved the wintry winds and drizzly skies to cater a Christmas fete at a local primary school, and let us tell you—it was pure festive magic. The event was a throwback to our own childhoods, when pocket money was king, and school fairs were the highlight of the year. But this one? It took things to a whole new level.
The school’s PTA absolutely nailed it, pulling together weeks of hard work into one fantastic afternoon. The fete was bustling with handmade gifts, glittering jewellery, sweets galore, Christmas cards, and pre-loved toys—all set against the backdrop of fairy lights and holiday tunes. Our Hog Roast Kearsley crew set up shop in the heart of the action, ready to fuel the festive fun with our famous hog roast sandwiches—because let’s be honest, shopping and Santa visits require serious sustenance.
Our menu? A Christmas miracle on a plate. We served up tender pulled pork sandwiches stuffed with sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and lashings of applesauce. For sides, we went all out with pigs in blankets, gooey cauliflower cheese, and perfectly roasted potatoes that had everyone coming back for seconds. The smell alone was enough to make Rudolph himself stop by for a nibble.
But the fun didn’t stop at food and stalls. The fete was packed with festive activities: kids bouncing gleefully on the castle, cheeks painted like reindeer, parents crafting wreaths, and, of course, Santa himself holding court in his grotto. Even the rain couldn’t dampen the holiday spirit of this lively crowd!
To top it all off, Hog Roast Kearsley kept everyone warm and merry with cups of steaming mulled wine (non-alcoholic for the kiddos) and mince pies drenched in warm brandy cream. Talk about a Christmas hug in dessert form!
By the end of the day, our dishes were empty, our hearts were full, and the PTA couldn’t thank us enough. As for the kids? They’re still talking about the feast days later. Now that is the ultimate holiday win.
Thanks, Manchester, for letting us be part of the magic. Same time next year?
