Saddle Up for the Ultimate Galentine’s Day Feast with Hog Roast Hale!

Move over, Valentine’s Day – there’s a new holiday in town, and it’s all about celebrating the incredible power of female friendship! Inspired by a 2010 episode of Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day has become an annual tradition where ladies gather to appreciate their besties with good food, great laughs, and unforgettable memories. And this year, Hog Roast Hale was honoured to help make one group’s celebration extra special!

Lauren and her 20 closest mates decided to take their Galentine’s celebration to the next level with a weekend getaway at one of Manchester’s most breathtaking glamping sites. Boasting serene rivers, wild grasslands, and an endless open sky, it was the perfect setting for a cowgirl-inspired night under the stars. Of course, no Wild West soirée would be complete without a feast fit for frontier queens, and that’s where we came in with our Southern Slow Roast Menu.

Hog Roast Hale spent the afternoon preparing a spread that would make any cowboy – or cowgirl – tip their hat in approval. Our meats, marinated in a secret blend of spices, were slow-cooked for hours to achieve that perfect, fall-off-the-bone tenderness. When the sun dipped below the horizon, the ladies – decked out in their best cowgirl attire – gathered around a roaring fire pit, ready to dig into a hearty and delicious spread.

On the menu? Mouthwatering Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, smoky BBQ pork butt, and melt-in-your-mouth Texan beef brisket, all served with a variety of homemade sauces and condiments. And because no Southern-style feast is complete without some top-tier sides, we dished up creamy mac and cheese, Memphis-style coleslaw, and a mix of classic and sweet potato fries; each one crisped to perfection and served with an array of dips.

To fully embrace the rustic theme, we served everything on eco-friendly bamboo plates with matching cutlery, adding an extra touch of authenticity to the Western-inspired evening. The girls loved every bite, and the compliments flowed as freely as the laughter. After finishing their feast, they cosied up around the firepit, roasting marshmallows and sipping champagne.

Before packing up for the night, Hog Roast Hale made sure to carefully store any leftovers so the group could continue enjoying our slow-roasted delights throughout their trip. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a fun and heartfelt celebration, and we can’t wait to see what creative Galentine’s events come our way next year!
