There’s so much to love about being a caterer, but without a doubt, one of the best perks of the job is being trusted to cater for weddings. There’s just something magical about being part of a couple’s big day, knowing that the meal we prepare is the first they’ll enjoy as newlyweds. It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly!
Of course, weddings come with their fair share of pressure. Every detail has to be perfect, and timing is everything. But at Hog Roast Atherton, we live for this kind of challenge. With over 30 years of catering experience under our belts, we’ve mastered the art of delivering exceptional food, no matter the occasion. And if our long list of happy couples is anything to go by, we must be doing something right!
Our most recent wedding adventure? Carly and Hayden’s gorgeous mid-week celebration last Thursday. And let me tell you – these two lucked out! Blue skies and 18-degree temps…not bad for April in Manchester, don’t you think?
The setting was just as stunning. A beautifully heated courtyard right in the heart of the city, offering breathtaking views of the Manchester skyline. Add a cosy canopy, twinkling lights, and a room full of excited guests, and you’ve got the perfect wedding vibe.
As the first to arrive, Hog Roast Atherton wasted no time diving into action. Our chefs got straight to work, preparing an irresistible hog roast using the finest pig we could source. As the meat slowly sizzled its way to golden perfection, our team turned their attention to the sides and antipasti platters. Each dining table was graced with a stunning charcuterie spread overflowing with Italian meats, cheeses, artisan breads, olives, and fresh fruits.
To round out the feast, we prepared bold salads, gourmet coleslaw, and buttery new potatoes. And for our vegetarian guests? Delicious grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs!
By the time Carly, Hayden, and their guests arrived, the hog was glistening, steaming hot, and ready to be carved. Guests watched in awe as our catering manager skillfully separated the crackling from the tender meat, serving it up with homemade stuffing and a dollop of apple sauce.
Before long, plates were wiped clean and stomachs were happily stuffed. But there’s always room for dessert! For the grand finale, Hog Roast Atherton rolled out towers of chocolate-smothered profiteroles and decadent cheesecake crowned with fresh cream.
Let’s just say, if there were leftovers, we sure didn’t see them!
