Winter Wedding Magic: An Epic Feast With Hog Roast Heywood

Hog Roast HeywoodWhile December is often all about festive feasting, at Hog Roast Heywood, we’re still busy creating unforgettable moments for all kinds of events—including weddings! Just yesterday, our team had the pleasure of catering for Alisha and Michael’s big day, and what a celebration it was!

The couple chose a stunning Georgian manor house for their venue; a place straight out of a fairytale. Frost-dusted gardens, crisp winter air, and the twinkle of seasonal magic created a picture-perfect backdrop. Inside, the high ceilings, ornate detailing, and classic cream-and-white decor exuded elegance, setting the stage for a truly opulent wedding. Naturally, the menu needed to match the grandeur of the occasion, and our luxurious Wedding Menu 4 fit the bill perfectly.

Celebrated for its sophisticated style, this menu was the ideal choice for Alisha and Michael’s traditional winter wedding. Our team spent the morning preparing each dish from scratch, ensuring every detail was just right. As the guests made their way into the beautifully decorated dining hall, our serving staff greeted them with trays of canapés and refreshments, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Hog Roast HeywoodThe formal dining began with a hearty bowl of homemade soup, a cosy winter warmer that set the tone for the meal. Then came the pièce de résistance: a lavish buffet brimming with options to delight every palate. Highlights included garlic and rosemary-studded spring lamb with mint sauce and Yorkshire puddings, whole-roasted free-range chickens seasoned with thyme and served with sage and onion stuffing and chipolata sausages, and a vegetarian showstopper of grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with tzatziki and flatbreads.

Accompanying these mains was a spread of exquisite sides, including creamy dauphinoise potatoes, classic Caesar salad, gourmet coleslaw, tomato and mozzarella salad, and seasonal salad leaves. Guests were free to mix, match, and pile their plates as high as they liked—and they didn’t waste the opportunity!

Despite the abundance of food, guests wisely saved room for dessert. Hog Roast Heywood’s homemade sticky toffee pudding and vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream offered a sweet finish to the meal, leaving everyone on a high note.

Alisha and Michael were thrilled with the food, the service, and the seamless execution of their wedding feast. For us, it was an honour to be part of such a magical day, proving that Hog Roast Heywood is here to make every celebration—big or small—a deliciously memorable one.
